About Me – fsk's healthy way

About Me

Hello, my name is FSK!

Well, actually…

Fatema Sugra Kermalli, but you can call me FSK for short

Can I tell you something?

Never in my life (however long or short you may consider it to be) saw myself wanting to have my own health coaching business. I was determined to save lives and provide comfort to patients in their time of need as a nurse – because I wanted to provide solutions. But now, I want to provide an IMPACT.

I lived in your standard Desi-American household, where you had a mix of both curries and rice, and pop-tarts and lasagna. We never really gave much heed to how we ate growing up. Fast forward eleven years later of my dad having a triple by-pass heart surgery, my mom getting diagnosed (and surviving) cancer, and my brother being diagnosed with schizophrenia, I started to talk to this random dude from California in January 2015. I thought he was a health junkie because he loved going to the gym (weird, right?) and so to impress him, I tried out P90x3 workouts by Tony Horton. Guess it worked, because two years later, this health junkie became my husband. That was not only the beginning of my happily ever after, but also the realization that I actually was not taking care of my body well at all.

As much as I hated it at the time, my husband had a strict policy of little to no processed foods in our apartment and working out at least 5-6 times a week. I struggled quite a bit, and remember picking up a pack of skittles or hershey bar after grocery shopping – and even though I knew this wasn’t good for my body, I still did it.

I felt addicted.

I felt like I lost control of my own body.

Honestly, I was scared.

It was that moment that I appreciated his discipline towards our health. I’ll be honest, it took a lot of talks (and sometimes arguments) to get me to understand why it was important to push myself to the max at the gym (or why I even had to workout because sometimes I just wouldn’t want to), and why it was important to understand what foods I am putting into my body. You could almost say he was my live-in health coach. Actually, he was and sometimes still is my health coach.

Why did I explain all of this?

Because THIS developed the passion to help people with their overall wellness, but not by just giving them a simple solution – by providing an impact on their health, which means providing an impact on their life. I can’t tell you how much time it took for me to understand and remind myself (many many times) why I want a healthier life. Realizing it is the best thing ever, because now you will do what you can to provide your body with what it deserves, and in return, your body will let you live the life YOU deserve.

As a Health Coach, I will show you the tools made just for you to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle!
